4 Mile round trip with beautiful views of the Pine River following both sides of the river between Silver Creek and Lincoln Bridge CampgroundsManistee River Trail

Peterson Bridge Campground
On The Pine RiverJust a mile from our office Peterson Bridge Campground is directly across the river from Peterson Bridge River access. This Campground offers some paddle up camping sites, where canoes can be left for overnight trips. Some sites can be reserved online however most are First Come First Served.

Silver Creek Campground
On The Pine RiverSilver Creek Campground is a State (DNR) operated campground that boarders a large area of the Pine River. Very popular for multi-day trips on the Pine, located approx. 4.5hrs down stream of Briar Patch, and 4.5hrs upstream of Coolwater Campground, makes these Paddle-Up campsites a must stop for three day trips. Sites are rustic, and First-Come-First-Serve.

Lincoln Bridge Campground
Short Walk From The RiverThis quaint campground is nestled among secluded evergreens on the Pine River, a 2 mile hiking path along the river links this campground to Silver Creek Campground. Sites are Rustic, potable water available, First-Come-First-Serve.

Coolwater Campground
Short Walk From The RiverCoolwater On The Pine is the only privately owned campground with a federal easement within the Pine River Corridor. Paddlers often stay here as part of overnight trips such as Elm-Flats to Low Bridge, or for one of the many day trips. Sites can be booked online in advance, with the campground offering many amenities to campers. Paddling groups of 25 or more people have the option to schedule a bus pickup from Coolwater and be transported directly to the river.

Kestelwoods Campground
Kestelwoods is a beautiful, family operated campground, nestled neatly between Dobson and Peterson launch sites. offering lots of amenities including a heated pool, RV dump site, and electric in every site. Bus and van pickups are available for Hoxeyville Outfitters customers camping at Kestelwoods. Campground bookings can be made by calling 231-862-3476.

Twin Oaks Campground
Located very close to Low Bridge River Access, Twin Oaks Campground & Cabins offers a fantastic place to stay after you finish your river trip. Plenty of amenities to offer, you can pick out and book your site online or over the phone. Bus Pickups are available for paddlers with larger groups, making it easy to manage getting everyone to the river in the morning, Hoxeyville Outfitters bussing services must be scheduled well in advance.

Back Country Camping
Hodenpyl Dam to Tippy DamAlthough dispersed camping is allowed within the National Forest, some regulations are placed for camping in certain sections. Within the section from Hodenpyl Dam to Tippy Dam there are 42 Designated Dispersed camping sites available for use. All other dispersed camping must be more than 200ft from the river bank.

Back County Camping
The Pine RiverDispersed Camping is permitted within the National Forest providing it is done more than 200ft from a body of water. The Pine National Scenic River Corridor is one of very few river sections with enhanced prohibitions. Within the federally regulated section camping is not allowed within 1250ft of the river, the state controlled section (up stream from Lincoln) authorizes dispersed camping along the river.
